So as soon as the opportunity presented itself we couldn\u2019t help but make it our way.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Our recipe? Contrasting colours, using material in an unusual way and a strong desire to have fun! A bit like as children when it was fun to create things, using bits and pieces we found around the house. Ribbons, old buttons, threads, remnants and lots and lots of creativity.<\/span><\/p><br><br><h2>Silk ribbon for a stylish midi skirt<\/h2><p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">We have made a midi skirt<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"> by knitting <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">chiffon 6 silk ribbons 2.5cm wide<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. Just like yarn, it\u2019s also easy to work with ribbon, with both needles and hooks allowing you to produce lovely and light pieces.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The chosen colour is Beaver. A grim colour but combined with brighter colours it unmasks a surprising look. An Afro-chic and minimal piece at the same time! As of today you can buy them from our website and we\u2019re sure you won\u2019t be able to live without them!<\/span><\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dhgshop.performize.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/lo-stile-afro-chic.jpg\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><br><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Created only for needlework and wet processing felt techniques, from experience they have proved to be adaptable and workable with many different techniques.<\/span><br><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">So, what techniques did we use to create the two afro-chic bags?<\/span><br><a href=\"https:\/\/dhgshop.performize.io\/blog\/article-tutorial-pochette-prefelt-ribbons-how-to_164.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">For the pochette we used<\/span><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"> the <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Tunisian Entrelac stitch<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">.<\/span><br><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Instead for the shopping bag we have gone for <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">the knitting needles<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">. You can find the pattern here to make yours.<\/span><\/p><p><br><\/p><p><br><\/p><h2 align=\"center\">Bangles-mania<\/h2><p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Then we have gone wild with the accessories.  Coloured, fun, easy to make and so light you can even wear 100 altogether.<\/span><br><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">To make them we have used prefelt ribbons and DHG deluxe <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">faux leather<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"> which as of today you can find also in Gold and Silver.<\/span><\/p><p><br><\/p><h2 align=\"center\">It\u2019s not afro-chic without a headband<\/h2><p>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">We couldn\u2019t even think about afro-chic and not create headbands. All you need is <\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">foulards<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"> or simple remnants to make fantastic ones.<\/span><\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dhgshop.performize.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/lostile-afro-chic.jpg\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><br><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Those in the photo? They were made with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dhgshop.performize.io\/item-fabrics-wool-gauze-by-the-meter_0_0_2_61_19.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">wool gauze Colour Honey<\/span><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dhgshop.performize.io\/item-fabrics-5-silk-pongee-by-the-meter_0_0_2_59_19.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">pongee silk Colour Florence<\/span><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"> and crochet prefelt necklaces.
