The second <\/span>super crafty Christmas tutorial<\/span><\/strong><\/a> is a top down raglan sleeve cardigan. It\u2019s been designed for 9\/10 year old girls and is a project by <\/span>Designs By Phanessa<\/span><\/a><\/strong> who has created it for us, using our new spray paint effect yarn, Piuma.<\/span><\/p>\n

Phanessa is a Californian knitter and blogger with a cheerful fresh style. You can find an amazing gallery of cardigans, scarves, hats, pot-holders and much more on her <\/span>Instagram<\/span><\/a><\/strong>. However, her true passion is children\u2019s knitwear. So, we thought she\u2019d be perfect for this project for children. And we weren\u2019t wrong!<\/span><\/p>\n

We are crazy about this girls\u2019 top down cardigan (or even unisex, as pink tones don\u2019t have to just be for girls) as it\u2019s a classic cardigan, refreshed by the pattern from our Piuma spray paint edition. The watercolour effect comes from a special spray pattern on the yarn, turning a plain colour into a multicoloured one!<\/span><\/p>\n

The Knit Cardigan is a classic top-down raglan style cardigan. Worked in one piece, it\u2019s a great beginner\u2019s pattern.<\/span>

How to make a raglan sleeve cardigan<\/h2>

Round 1 (rs)<\/b>: *k to next marker. Remove marker. Place next set of sts before next marker on scrap yarn. Remove next marker*, rep between * twice.<\/span><\/p>

Place held sts evenly onto 3 dpns. Use a 4<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> dpn to knit with. Leave a long tail for closing up hole under arm. Sleeves are worked in the round.<\/span><\/p>

From round 1 to round 5<\/span><\/b>: k all sts<\/span>
round 6<\/b>: k2tog, k rem sts.<\/span>
Rep from round 1 to round 6, six more times for a total of 42 rounds or until sleeve measures 33 cm \/ 13\u201d.<\/span><\/p>

How to make the cuffs of the raglan sleeve cardigan<\/h3>

Round 1<\/b>: k all sts<\/span>
round 2<\/b>: p all sts.<\/span>
Rep rounds 1 and 2 three more times, 8 total rounds.<\/span><\/p>
