This year fur wool clothing, like a sort of \u201cTeddy Bear\u201d is a bit hit, so we said to ourselves: \u201cWhy don\u2019t we come up with some ideas to do with the fur stitch, also known as the loop stitch, that can be both knitted and crocheted?\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2026and Bob\u2019s your uncle!<\/span><\/p>

Below you can find tutorials for 2 different loop stitches. One knitted, and one crocheted. Really nice either separately or even combined, why not? For those who want to be stylish and animal \u2013friendly! The yarn we picked out? <\/span>Our Piuma<\/span><\/strong> of course! Why Piuma, you ask? How to crochet the Astrakhan Stitch<\/h2>

MATERIALS

<\/span>Crochet hook<\/b> <\/span>n\u00b0 8 EU <\/span>\/ L\/11 US<\/span><\/p>

METHOD<\/b>
<\/b><\/span>Chain a multiple of 2 + 3 for the foundation.
<\/span>Note: it\u2019s possible to start the work without a set-up row In this case, do the 1<\/span>st<\/span><\/sup> row in the foundation chains.<\/span><\/p>

Set-up row<\/span>
<\/strong>forward pass: <\/span><\/strong>skip the last worked chain, *insert the hook into the following chain, yarn over and come out of the chain leaving the loop on the hook *, repeat from * to * until the end of the round. Don\u2019t turn the work over<\/span>
return pass<\/span><\/strong>: yarn over and bind off 1 loop on the hook, *yarn over and bind off 2 loops together *, repeat from * to * to the end of the round. Don\u2019t turn the work over.<\/span><\/p>\n

Row 1<\/span>
<\/strong>forward pass<\/span><\/strong>: 1 knit stitch across each stitch to the last one, 1 edge stitch in the last stitch. Don\u2019t turn the work over<\/span>
return pass<\/span><\/strong>: yarn over and bind off 1 loop on the hook, yarn over and bind off 2 loops together twice, *3 chains, yarn over and bind off 2 loops together twice *, repeat from * to * to the end of the round. Don\u2019t turn the work over.<\/span><\/p>\n

Row 2<\/span>
<\/strong>forward pass<\/span><\/strong>: as the forward pass for the 1st round<\/span>
return pass<\/span><\/strong>: yarn over and bind off 1 loop on the hook, yarn over and bind off 2 loops together * 3 chains, yarn over and bind off 2 loops together twice *, repeat from * to * until you\u2019ve got 2 loops on the hook, yarn over and bind off 2 loops together. Don\u2019t turn the work over.<\/span><\/p>

Row 3<\/span>

<\/b><\/span>It\u2019s done on an even number of stitches.<\/span><\/p>

Row 1<\/span><\/strong>: knit stitch<\/span>
row 2<\/b>: make a loop in each stitch (=insert the needle to the right of the following stitch, wrap the thread around that stitch, then around your index finger on your left hand, then again around the tip of the needle to get 2 stitches. Let these 2 stitches slip through the stich on the needle, slip them off the right-hand needle onto the left-hand needle, so working them together through the back of the loops)<\/span>
row 3<\/b>: repeat from<\/span> row 1.<\/span><\/p>

Tip<\/span><\/strong>: the outcome may be altered by using steam or cold water. Once the piece has been made, you can:<\/span>
1. not treat it and only have it dry cleaned<\/span><\/strong> obtaining a 3-D texture with naturally flat loops<\/span>
2. steam it<\/span><\/strong> with a simple iron and only having it dry-cleaned, you\u2019ll see the yarn will puff up noticeably, creating a real chunky fur wool<\/span>
3. wash it in cold water<\/span><\/strong>, giving the yarn a bit of a fris\u00e9 effect.<\/span><\/p>
