We\u2019ve decided to celebrate the growth of the collection with another free and exclusive pattern by <\/span>Knitting For Breakfast<\/span><\/a><\/strong>. It\u2019s a really easy to make garment and ideal for spring and autumn, to wear with a pair of jeans but even over a dress during the day. We\u2019ve chosen to do it two-tone with thick stripes, but you can choose to repeat the stripes \u2013 perhaps with different colours \u2013 or go for a plain colour.<\/span><\/p>\n

How to make a \u00be sleeve kimono cardigan knitting back and forth with flat needles<\/h2>\n

This kimono cardigan is worked with flat knitting needles back and forth. We\u2019re going to work the pieces separately, first the back then the two fronts and lastly the sleeves. The pieces will then be sewn together. Finally, the front hem will be picked up and made by a 2-ply yarn, one for each colour.<\/span><\/p>

Here\u2019s how to proceed to knit the kimono cardigan<\/h3>\n

Using <\/span>colour 1 and n<\/span><\/strong>\u00b0 6.5 EU \/ 10.5 US<\/b><\/span> knitting needles<\/span><\/strong> cast on <\/span>76 stitches.<\/span><\/strong>

Stitching up and finishing off<\/h2>\n

Firstly<\/span>, sew the shoulders like this<\/span><\/strong>: position one at the front and one at the back, the right sides facing each other, and sew the two parts together (34 stitches) using the same yarn as the work.<\/span><\/p>\n

Repeat the same thing for the other shoulder.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now join the <\/span>sleeves of the kimono cardigan<\/span><\/strong> together. Sew the first sleeve by lining the centre of the sleeve up with the shoulder seam. Repeat for the other sleeve.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/span>
