The section dedicated to knit stitches continues! Today, we\u2019re going to learn how to do <\/span>a very quirky stitch<\/span><\/strong> that creates drapey loops. The drop stitch garter! It\u2019s ideal for making scarves or <\/span>ponchos<\/span><\/a><\/strong> as it\u2019s really lightweight thanks to its loopy stitches, but who\u2019s to say you can\u2019t use it for other garments too? Let\u2019s just say it\u2019s perfect for those aren\u2019t looking for a compact weft.<\/span><\/p>

In fact, we\u2019ve used our <\/span>Stromboli, a pure cotton tape<\/span><\/strong>, precisely for the reason that we think that together with the drop stitch garter you can get a gorgeous sheer summer top, or maybe a 70s above the knee dress out of it, both ideal for evenings out at the beach.<\/span><\/p>

Now all you have to do is grab your needles and get to work. You\u2019ll soon see that this stitch is quick and easy to do. Try it for yourself!<\/span>

How to do the drop stitch garter<\/h2>

MATERIALS
<\/span><\/b>Stromboli yarn<\/b><\/a> col. Wine 200 g \/ 7 oz<\/span>
Knitting needle <\/b><\/span>n\u00b0 12 EU \/ 17 US<\/span>
<\/p>

METHOD<\/b><\/span>
<\/p>

1<\/span>st<\/span><\/sup>-3<\/span>rd<\/span><\/sup>-5<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> row (back of the work):<\/span><\/strong> purl.<\/span><\/p>

2nd \u2013 4th row<\/span><\/strong>: knit.<\/span><\/p>

6th row<\/span><\/strong>: triple wrap stitch (=wrap the yarn around the right needle 3 times before pulling out the purl stitch).<\/span><\/p>

7<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> row<\/span><\/strong>: knit, letting the wrapped threads from the previous row drop (the stitches will look stretched out).<\/span><\/p>

8<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>-10<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>-12<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> row<\/span><\/strong>: knit<\/span><\/p>

9<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>-11<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> row<\/span><\/strong>: purl.<\/span><\/p>

13th row<\/span><\/strong>: triple wrap stitch (=wrap the yarn around the right needle 3 times before pulling out the knit stitch).<\/span><\/p>

14<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> row:<\/span><\/strong> purl, letting the wrapped stitches drop from the previous row.<\/span><\/p>

15<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> row<\/span><\/strong>: repeat from the 1<\/span>st<\/span><\/sup> row.<\/span><\/p>
