This time, we\u2019ve come up with a knit jacket with ribbon inserts that has the distinctive feature of being made by weaving yarn and ribbons. Piuma yarn and Etamine Wool ribbons mainly. The outcome is a prettily chunky and sturdy knit jacket.<\/span><\/p>

Let\u2019s grab our needles and get\nstarted straight away on this new pattern.<\/span><\/p>

<\/p>

The stitches are gradually increased, from the neck to the sleeves, \nthen the stitches are placed on hold on a thread to be picked up later. \nThe sleeves are worked in the round. It\u2019s one size.<\/span>the huge advantage of being seamless<\/span><\/strong>This type of garment is worked back and forth with circular needles from top to bottom. As it\u2019s worked as just one piece it has.<\/span><\/p>

How to make a knit jacket with ribbon inserts<\/h2>

<\/span>Wool Etamine Ribbons 2.5cm wide<\/span><\/strong><\/a> col. Honey 350 m
<\/span>Knitting needle<\/a><\/b><\/span> n\u00b0 8 EU \/ 11 US
<\/span>Knitting needle<\/b><\/span> <\/span>n\u00b0 10<\/span><\/p>

Row 1, knit 1 purl 1 to the end of the row and Row 2: work the stitches as they appear<\/span>

METHOD<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

Here’s how to go on to make the body of a knit jacket with ribbon inserts<\/h3>

Using <\/span>n\u00b0<\/b><\/span> 10 needles<\/span><\/strong> and Piuma yarn cast on <\/span>50 stitches<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>

<\/span>
<\/p>

Now carry on with the Piuma yarn together with the Wool Etamine Ribbon, alternating the use of the ribbons together with the use of just Piuma yarn, at random or as desired. We advise you not to cut the etamine ribbon, <\/span>but make sure that the ribbon that\u2019s placed on hold is always on the wrong side of the work<\/span><\/strong>, we also advise that you don\u2019t place it on hold for more than 5 or 6 stitches.<\/span><\/p>

<\/p>

If you want longer sections of\njust the Piuma yarn, then cut the ribbon and pick it up later. Doing this you\ncan decide to prioritize the piuma yarn or the ribbon creating your own\npersonal item which makes it original and different to any other.<\/span><\/p>

Proceed by following these instructions:<\/h4>

Row 1: (RS):<\/span><\/strong> knit all stitches<\/span>
Row 2 (WS):<\/span><\/strong> purl all stitches<\/span><\/p>

Place the place markers (PM) in the following way:<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>

Row 3 (RS):<\/span><\/strong> knit 6, place PM, knit 8, place PM, knit 22, place PM, knit 8, place PM, knit 6.<\/span>
<\/p>

Row 4 (WS):<\/span><\/strong> purl all stitches.<\/span><\/p>

Now we\u2019re going to start increasing to shape the sleeves, the back and the two front parts for the jacket. The increases are always done before and after each place marker.<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>

Row 5 (RS):<\/span><\/strong> * knit until the PM, increase 1, slip PM, increase 1 * repeat from * to * another 3 times, knit to the end of the row. (8 increased stitches)<\/span>
<\/p>

Row 6 (WS):<\/span><\/strong> purl all stitches.<\/span><\/p>

Repeat rounds 5 and 6 another\n15 times<\/span>
<\/p>

On the needles you\u2019ll have 178\nstitches in total<\/span>
<\/p>

Now place the sleeves on hold like so:<\/span>
<\/p>

knit 22, place 40 stitches on hold (first sleeve) knit 54 stitches, place on hold the next 40 stitches (second sleeve) and knit another 22 stitches.<\/span><\/p>

Now start working on the body, on the needles there are 98 stitches.<\/span><\/p>

Round 1 (RS):<\/span><\/strong> knit all stitches<\/span>
Round 2 (WS):<\/span><\/strong> purl all stitches<\/span><\/p>

Repeat rounds 1 and 2 for about\n23cm<\/span>
<\/p>

Switch to no.8 needles use Piuma yarn only<\/span>
<\/p>

Work 6 rounds of rib stitch\n1\/1<\/span>
<\/p>

Bind off loosely.<\/span>

How to make the sleeves of the knit jacket<\/h4>

With the <\/span>n\u00b0 <\/span>10 needles and\nthe piuma yarn together with the etamine ribbon (always continuing to alternate\nthe yarns as previously indicated) pick up on the needles the 40 stitches\npreviously placed on hold and start working the sleeves in the round (with\ncircular needles) as follows:<\/span><\/p>

From rounds 1 to 5<\/span><\/strong>: knit all stitches<\/span>
Round 6:<\/span><\/strong> knit all stitches and decrease 2 stitches (38sts)<\/span>
From rounds 7 to 9:<\/span><\/strong> knit all stitches<\/span>
Round 10:<\/span><\/strong> knit all stitches and decrease 2 stitches (36sts)<\/span>
From rounds 11 to 13:<\/span><\/strong> knit all stitches<\/span>
