Starting off the new year of the knit stitch collection with <\/span>our yarns<\/span><\/strong>, is the crochet checkered stitch. This stitch is ideal for making blankets and scarves. It’s easy-peasy to do and looks gorgeous too: The bulkiness combined with the gaps of the checks make the surface look soft and three dimensional at the same time. What’s more, the checkered \nstitch has a timeless charm about it, it’ll be just as good tomorrow as it is today.<\/span><\/p>

We’ve chosen the <\/span>Piuma yarn <\/span><\/strong>in the Honey colour for the checkered stitch, but with so many different colours on <\/span>our shop<\/span><\/strong>, you’re bound to find one that’s just right for you.<\/span><\/p>

Tutorial: how to crochet the checkered stitch<\/h2>

MATERIALS<\/b><\/span>
Piuma yarn<\/a> <\/span><\/b>col. Lace 100 g \/ 3.5 oz<\/span>
Knitting needle <\/span><\/b>n\u00b0 8 EU \/ 11 US<\/span><\/p>

METHOD<\/b>
<\/b><\/span>Chain a multiple of 6+5 for the foundation chain.<\/span><\/p>

Set-up round
<\/span><\/strong>forward pass:<\/span><\/strong> skip the last chain done, *insert the hook into the next chain, yarn over and come out of the chain leaving the loop on the hook *, start again from * to * to the end of the round. Don’t turn the work over
<\/span>return pass:<\/span><\/strong> yarn over and bind off 1 loop on the hook, * yarn over and bind off 2 loops together * repeat from * to * to the end of the row. Don’t turn the work over<\/span><\/p>

Row 1
<\/span><\/strong>forward pass:<\/span><\/strong> * knit 3, purl 3 *, start again from * to * until the last 4 stitches, knit 3, 1 edge stitch in the last stitch. Don’t turn the work over
<\/span>return pass:<\/span><\/strong> as per the set-up round.<\/span><\/p>

From row 2 to row 6<\/span><\/strong>: as per the first<\/span> round.<\/span>
<\/p>

Row 7
<\/span><\/strong>forward pass:<\/span><\/strong> *purl 3, knit 3 *, start again from * to * to the last 4 stitches, purl 3, 1 edge stitch in the last stitch. Don’t turn the work over
<\/span>return pass:<\/span><\/strong> as per set-up round.<\/span><\/p>

From row 8 to row <\/span>12<\/span><\/strong>: as per the row 7<\/span>.<\/span>
<\/p>

Row 13: <\/span><\/strong>keep repeating from the row 1 <\/span>until you get the desired length.<\/span>

Start from the part that comes before the 1<\/span>st<\/span><\/sup> asterisk, repeat from * to * for all the round and\ncomplete with the part that follows the 2<\/span>nd <\/span><\/sup>asterisk.<\/span><\/p>
