We love the Window and Bubble stitch because it is just as its name suggests: adorable bubbles looking out of the window! The fullness and the gaps that this knit stitch has, creates a fluffy and 3D outer layer.\n Watch out though, we\u2019ve achieved this look by using our Piuma yarn which is especially soft and light. Try it for yourself!<\/span><\/p>

The Window Bubble stitch is ideal for scarves, blankets and berets. The colour Coral has been chosen for this stitch, although there\u2019s a wide selection of <\/span>colours to choose from on our shop<\/span><\/strong>. Have fun picking out the colour you like the most!<\/span><\/p>

Tutorial: how to knit the window bubble stitch<\/h2>

MATERIALS<\/b><\/span>
Piuma yarn<\/a><\/span><\/b> col. Coral 100 g \/ 3.5 oz<\/span>
Knitting needle<\/span><\/b> n\u00b0 8 EU \/ 11 US<\/span><\/p>

DIFFICULTY LEVEL

<\/p>

METHOD <\/b>
<\/b><\/span>This stitch is done in multiples of 10 + 6.<\/span><\/p>

Row 1 – 3<\/span><\/strong>: (on the back of the work): knit
<\/span>row 2 – 4<\/b>: purl
<\/span>row 5 – 7 – 9<\/b>: purl 2, slip 2 purlwise, *purl 8, slip 2 purlwise*, always repeat from * to * and purl 2 to finish off.<\/span><\/p>

To skip 1 purlwise, slip the stitch on the right needle without working it, picking it up from the back and leaving the thread at the front.<\/span>
<\/p>

Row 6 – 8<\/b>:<\/span> knit 2, *slip 2 knitwise, knit 8*, finish off with 2 slipped stitches knitwise, knit 2. To slip 1 knitwise, slip the stitch on the right needle without working it, picking it up from the back and leaving the thread behind
<\/span>row 10<\/b>:<\/span> knit 2, *slip 2 knitwise, knit 4, 1 bubble insert, knit 4*, finish off with 2 slipped stitches knitwise.<\/span><\/p>

To do the bubble insert, (insert the right needle under the horizontal thread that joins the previous stitch to the next one, but the 5<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> row below, 1 yarn over on the right and pull out the loop, stretching the thread to the height of the stitch on the thread, 1 yarn over on the right needle). Start again the part in the brackets another 4 times, pass the first 7 loops on the last yarn over.<\/span><\/p>

Row 11<\/b>: knit 4, *knit 4, knit 2 together, so, work the stitch from the bubble and the next stitch together, knit 5*, knit 2 to finish off
<\/span>row 12 – 14:<\/span><\/strong> purl
<\/span>row 13<\/b>:<\/span> knit
<\/span>row 15 – 17 – 19<\/b>: purl 4, *purl 3, slip 2\npurlwise*, purl 2 to finish off
<\/span>row 16 – 18<\/b>:<\/span> knit 2, *knit 5, slip 2 knitwise, knit 3*, knit 4 to finish off
<\/span>row 20<\/b>:<\/span> knit 2, *knit 1, 1 bubble insert, knit 4, slip 2 knitwise, knit 3*, knit 1 to finish off, 1 bubble insert, knit 3
<\/span>row 21<\/b>:<\/span> knit 3, knit 2 together, *knit 9, knit 2 together*, knit 2 to finish off
<\/span>row 22<\/b>:<\/span> repeat from row 2<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>

Start with the stitches that come before the first asterisk, repeat from * to * for all the row and finish off with the stitches that come after the 2nd asterisk. Please remember that the grey squares don\u2019t mean anything and shouldn\u2019t be counted when planning the design or whilst working.<\/span><\/p>
