Dyer, seamstress and passionate about textiles, Candice began her apprenticeship in the mist of the old fabrics of the family flea market in France. After training as a stylist, she is interested in and studies natural dyeing and linked the world of color to her knowledge of old canvases.<\/span><\/p>

Several doors open! Botany, colorimetry, textile traditions from around the world. Today, she is the founder of the <\/span>Supernaturelles<\/span><\/a><\/strong> Mark proposing an idea of the fashion that is closest to women and nature. She also organize workshop and seminars.<\/span><\/p>

Shibori with indaco and wool gauze<\/h2>

MATERIALS <\/b><\/span>
Wool gauze raw white<\/span><\/a><\/strong>, 1.65 cm height and 1.70 lenght<\/span>
Clothpins<\/span>
Chopstick<\/span>
String<\/span>
Ready <\/span>indigo<\/span><\/a><\/strong> vat \u2013 15 liter<\/span>
Basin<\/span>
White vinegar<\/span><\/p>

<\/p>

<\/p>

1 Turn the vat and wait until the surface becomes metalic again.<\/span><\/p>

\n\n\n\n<\/p>

<\/p>

2 Set up your equipment.<\/span><\/p>

\n\n\n\n<\/p>


<\/p>

<\/p>

3 Do a color test on a fabric sample.<\/span><\/p>


<\/p>

<\/p>

4 Fold the fabric in half crosswise.<\/span><\/p>


<\/p>

<\/p>

5 Fold a new strip of fabric across the width (about 11 cm). Continue with regular accordion style folds. You can get help using iron.<\/span><\/p>


<\/p>

<\/p>

6 Place the chopsticks above and below the fabric. Tie very tightly on one side and the other.<\/span><\/p>

\n\n\n\n<\/p>

7 Place the clothespins symmetrically (64 have been used in this example).<\/span><\/p>

\n\n\n\n<\/p>

8 Soak for a few minutes in warm water.<\/span><\/p>

9 Wring gently. Do not remove the sticks nor the clothpins.<\/span><\/p>

\n\n\n\n<\/p>

10 Soak for one minute into the indigo vat. Take it off and wring again.<\/span><\/p>

\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11 You get green\/yellow color. Wait until the fabric gets completely into blue on contact with oxygen. Soak again two or three time for about 5 minutes.<\/span>

12 After these steps, leave to turn it completely blue. Then immerse in cold water with white vinegar for 15\/20 minutes. Rinse.<\/span><\/p>

\n\n\n\n<\/p>

13 It\u2019s now time to remove the sticks and the clothespins, time to discover the patterns !<\/span><\/p>

\n\n\n\n<\/p>

<\/p>

14 Handwash carefully with gentle soap.<\/span><\/p>


<\/span><\/p>

15 Let the fabric air dry and sheltered from the sun.<\/span><\/p>
