Because the weather is changing, it’s going to get a bit chillier and we need to get ready for winter. The yarn chosen for this tutorial is our best seller Piuma. So soft it\u2019s addictive and as warm as a big hug. As October gets closer The Catherine Wheel stitch and Piuma are perfect for knitting up a scarf or a cozy blanket for sofa and film time.<\/span><\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span>

The chosen color is Highland from the Print collection but there are loads of other colors to choose from on the shop.<\/span><\/p>

Tutorial for knitting the catherine wheel stitch<\/h2>

MATERIALS<\/span><\/strong>
Piuma yarn<\/span><\/strong><\/a> col. Highland 100 g \/ 3.5 oz<\/span>
Needles<\/span><\/strong><\/a> n\u00b0 8 EU \/ 11 US<\/span><\/p>

<\/p>

METHOD
<\/b><\/span>It’s done on 20 foundation stitches.<\/span><\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span>

Row 1<\/b>: purl 1, knit 9, purl 9 and knit 1<\/span>
row 2<\/b>: purl 2, knit 8, purl 8 and knit 2<\/span>
row 3<\/b>: purl 3, knit 7, purl 7 and knit 3<\/span>
row 4<\/b>: <\/b>purl 4, knit 6, purl 6 and knit 4<\/span>
row 5<\/b>: *purl 5 and knit 5*, repeat the part between the * another time<\/span>
row 6<\/b>: purl 6, knit 4, purl 4 and knit 6<\/span>
row 7<\/b>: purl 7, knit 3, purl 3 and knit 7<\/span>
row 8<\/b>: purl 8, knit 2, purl 3 and knit 8<\/span>
row 9<\/b>: <\/b>purl 9, knit 1, purl 1 and knit 9<\/span>
row 10<\/b>: purl 10 and knit 10<\/span>
row 11<\/b>: knit 10, 1 bobble and purl 10.<\/span><\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span>

To do the bobble, knit into back 1 in the thread that joins the previous stitch to the following one, turn and in the worked stitch: knit 1, knit into back 1, knit 1, knit into back 1, knit 1.<\/span>
Turn and purl 5, turn and knit 5, turn and purl 5, turn and knit 2 together, knit 1, knit 2 together, turn and purl 3 together.<\/span><\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span>

Row 12<\/b>: knit 9, purl 2 together, that is, purl the following stitch and the stitch produced from the bobble together, knit 1 and purl 9<\/span>
row 13<\/b>: knit 8, purl 2, knit 2 and purl 8<\/span>
row 14<\/b>: <\/b>knit 7, purl 3, knit 3 and purl 7<\/span>

Please remember that the dark grey squares don\u2019t mean anything and shouldn\u2019t be counted when planning the design or whilst working. The light grey squares show the reverse stockinette stitch parts and the white squares the stockinette stitch part.<\/span><\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span>
