To highlight all the\ncharacteristics of Hokusai and autumn today we\u2019re offering you the pattern for\na cropped sweater with flounces. Ideal for a layered outfit.<\/span><\/p>

Tutorial: cropped sweater with flounces<\/h2>

MATERIALS<\/span><\/strong>
Hokusai yarn<\/span><\/strong><\/a> <\/span><\/strong>col. Saffron 130 g \/ 4.6 oz<\/span>
Knitting needles<\/span><\/strong><\/a> n\u00b0 6 EU \/ 10 US<\/span>
<\/p>

GAUGE<\/span><\/strong>
10 cm x 10 cm \/ 4″ x 4″<\/span>
15 stitches x 24 rows<\/span>

KNIT STITCHES USED<\/span><\/strong>
Knit<\/span>
Purl<\/span>
Increase<\/span>
Decrease<\/span> <\/span>
Rib 1\/1<\/span>:<\/span>
knit 1 and purl 1.<\/span>

<\/p>

How to make the front of the cropped sweater with flounces<\/h3>

Cast on 130 (134 M – 138 L) stitches and rib stitch 1\/1 for 8 rows.<\/span>
<\/p>

On the ninth row decrease by\nknitting the stitches together 2 by 2.<\/span> At the end of the round we should have half the number of stitches, so 75.<\/span>
Continue alternating a knit row and a purl row. Do 40 rows in total (45 M – 50 L).<\/span>
Cast on 130 (134 M – 138 L) stitches and rib stitch 1\/1 for 8 rows.<\/span><\/p>

Row 1<\/span><\/strong>: knit 1, increase 1, knit 73, increase 1 and knit 1<\/span>
row 2<\/span><\/strong>: purl<\/span>
row 3<\/span><\/strong>: knit 1, increase 1, knit 75, increase 1 and knit 1<\/span>
row 4<\/span><\/strong>: purl<\/span>
row 5<\/span><\/strong>: knit 1, increase 1, knit 77, increase 1 and knit 1<\/span>
row 6<\/span><\/strong>: purl<\/span>
row 7<\/span><\/strong>: knit 1, increase 1, knit 79, increase 1 and knit 1<\/span>
row 8<\/span><\/strong>: purl<\/span>

At the end of row 8 you\u2019ll have 81 stitches.<\/span><\/p>

Continue with a knit row and a purl row until 80 rows (88 M – 96 L).<\/span><\/p>

Bind off all stitches.<\/span><\/p>

Do the for back exactly what you did the front.<\/span><\/p>

<\/p>

How to sew up the front and the back of the cropped sweater with flounces<\/h3>

Once you\u2019ve done the two sleeveless pieces, go on to the making up.<\/span>
Sew the shoulders for about 10 cm \/ 4″.<\/span><\/p>

But before going on to sewing the sides you need to make the arm hole.<\/span>
Start from the increases and pick up 88 stitches.<\/span>
Rib stitch 1\/1 for 8 rows.<\/span>
Bind off the stitches.<\/span><\/p>

Do the same thing for the other arm hole. Once this last step has been done close the sides.<\/span><\/p>
