That\u2019s right, it\u2019s that time of year again when we need to take cover from the unexpected wind and rain. That\u2019s why, we\u2019re starting the new season of knitting and crochet patterns with a beanie. One of the special kinds, with a pom pom and super warm. <\/span><\/p>

The beanie has been made with our Piuma yarn in pure merino wool. It\u2019s got 2 colours, one printed and one classic.<\/span><\/p>

Let\u2019s get started.<\/span><\/p>

How to make a pom pom beanie<\/h2>MATERIALS
<\/b><\/span>Piuma yarn<\/a><\/b> col. Spirit of the Cyrcus 100 g \/ 3.5 oz
<\/span>Piuma yarn<\/b> col. Etoile 100 g \/ 3.5 oz
<\/span>Knitting needle<\/a><\/b> n\u00b0 7 EU \/ 10.5 US
<\/span>Knitting needle <\/b>n\u00b0 8 EU \/ 11 US
<\/span>Wool needle<\/a><\/b><\/span>

GAUGE<\/b><\/span>
10 cm x 10 cm \/ 4\u201d x 4\u201d<\/span>
13 stitches x 16 rows<\/span><\/p>


<\/span><\/p>

KNIT STITCHES USED<\/b><\/span>
Stockinette stitch<\/u>: <\/span>
knit 1 and purl 1.<\/span>
Rib stitch 1\/1<\/u>:<\/span>
knit 1 and purl 1, in the next row knit 1 on a knitted stitch and purl 1 on a purled stitch. <\/span>
Jacquard motif<\/u>:<\/span>
each check corresponds to a stitch.<\/span><\/p>

METHOD
<\/b><\/span>With the Piuma col. Spirit of the Cyrcus cast on 62 stitches with n\u00b0 7 EU \/ 10.5 US needles.
<\/span>Rib stitch 1\/1 for 11 rows.
<\/span>Proceed with n\u00b0 8 EU \/ 11 US needles.<\/span><\/p>

Row 12<\/b>: knit all the row<\/span>
row 13<\/b>: purl all the row<\/span>
row 14<\/b>: knit all the row<\/span>
row 15<\/b>: purl all the row<\/span>
row 16<\/b>: work the Jacquard until row 25.<\/span><\/p>

Now continue with Piuma Etoile.<\/span>
<\/p>

Row 26<\/b>: knit all<\/span>
row 27<\/b>: purl all<\/span>
row 28<\/b>: knit 2, * knit 2 together, knit 2 stitches * repeat from * to *, finish with 2 knit stitches<\/span>
row 29<\/b>: purl all<\/span>
row 30<\/b>: knit 3, knit 2 stitches together, * knit 1, knit 2 together * repeat from * to *, knit 3 to finish<\/span>
row 31<\/b>: purl all<\/span>
row 32<\/b>: knit 2, knit 2 together for all the row<\/span>
row 33<\/b>: purl all.<\/span><\/p>

Cut the thread leaving a bit of length, with a needle pick up the stitches and pull the thread to bind off the stitches together.<\/span><\/p>

Sew up the beanie.<\/span><\/p>
