We are avid admirers of this stitch because, looking at it closely, it’s reminiscent of a silent and magnificent cloisters with columns that are found at the centre of monasteries and convents. With their long shadows that move silently in the corridors and between the arches.<\/span><\/p>

Row 1 (we work from the wrong side)<\/b>: chain 4 (1 initial double crochet + chain 1), skip 6 chains starting from the hook, crossed double crochet <\/span>3<\/span>, that is <\/span>skip <\/span>again 1 <\/span>chain<\/span>, double crochet 1 in each of the 2 following <\/span>chains<\/span>, then from left to right <\/span>double crochet 1<\/span> in the previously skipped chain, wrapping also the 2 double crochets just stitched; *<\/span>chain 1<\/span>, miss 1 <\/span>chain<\/span>, <\/span>double crochet 1<\/span> in the 3 following <\/span>chains<\/span>, <\/span>chain 1<\/span>, <\/span>skip 1 <\/span>chain<\/span>, <\/span>crossed double crochet <\/span>3<\/span>*, repeat from * to * until the last 2 <\/span>chains<\/span>, finish with <\/span>1 <\/span>chain<\/span>, <\/span>skip <\/span>1 <\/span>chain<\/span>, <\/span>double crochet 1<\/span> in the last chain
