Today’s knitting project is a super easy. It is one that you can begin on Saturday and finish on Sunday, one that that lifts your mood because it doesn’t make you work your finger to the bone get it finished.<\/span><\/p>

The project we are talking about is a tank top made with a <\/span>pure cotton <\/span>Sailorman<\/span> tape<\/span>. We have chosen a colour pop using the colour <\/span>saffron, which<\/span> is opaque and super summery, however, on the store you can find many other colour options. Have fun selecting the best on for you!<\/span><\/p>

Tutorial: how to knit a tank top<\/h2>

MATERIALS<\/span><\/b>
Sailorman yarn<\/span><\/b><\/a><\/b> col. Saffron 200 g \/ 7 oz<\/span>
Needles n\u00b0 6 EU \/ 10 US
<\/span>Needles <\/span>n\u00b0 7 EU \/ US
Stitch marker

16 stitches and 23 rounds in stockinette stitch<\/span>

We work in the round from bottom to top in one piece up until the underarm. The yoke is worked in two separate parts, front and back with back-and-forth rows.<\/span>
<\/p>

How to knit the body of the tank top<\/h3>

Using needles n\u00b0 6 EU \/ 10 US, c<\/span>ast on 96 stitches, insert the marker at the beginning of the round and close in the round.<\/span>
<\/p>

From row 1 to row 16<\/b>: knit rib 2\/2.<\/span><\/p>

Change <\/span>needles <\/span>to<\/span> n\u00b0 7 EU \/ US<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>

Knit all rounds in stockinette stitch until the tank top is approx. 32 cm \/ 12.6″ long.<\/span>
<\/p>

How to knit the front of the tank top<\/h3>

At this point we <\/span>divide<\/span> <\/span>work is into two parts, therefore continue working back and forth only for the first half of the stitches, 48 stitches.<\/span><\/p>

Row 1, right side<\/b>: <\/span>close 1 stitch, knit to the end of the row. Turn over the piece, 47 stitches
<\/span>row 2, wrong side<\/b>: <\/span>close 1 stitch, purl to the end of the row. Turn over the piece, 46 stitches
<\/span>row <\/b>3, <\/b><\/span>right <\/b>side<\/b>: <\/span>Knit 2, knit until 2 stitches before the end, knit 2. Turn over the work
<\/span>row <\/b>4, <\/b><\/span>wrong side<\/b>: <\/span>Knit 2, knit until 2 stitches before the end, knit 2. Turn over the work
<\/span>row <\/b>5, <\/b><\/span>right <\/b>side<\/b>: <\/span>Knit 2<\/span>, <\/span>1 simple stitch passed over, knit until 4 stitches before the end, knit 2 together, Knit 2<\/span>. <\/span>Turn over the work
<\/span>row <\/b>6, <\/b><\/span>wrong side<\/b>: k<\/span>nit 2<\/span>, purl <\/span>until 4 stitches before the end<\/span>, <\/span>Knit 2<\/span>. <\/span>Turn over the work<\/span><\/p>

Repeat from row 3 to row 6 once more.<\/span>

Knit 2 rows in stockinette stitch:<\/b><\/span>
right <\/b>side<\/b>: k<\/span>nit 2<\/span>, <\/span>knit until 2 stitches before the end<\/span>, <\/span>Knit 2<\/span>. <\/span>Turn over the work<\/span>

Change <\/span>needles<\/span> to n\u00b0 6 EU \/ 10 US.<\/span><\/p>

Work rib 2\/2 as follows:<\/b><\/span>
row <\/b>1, <\/b><\/span>right <\/b>side<\/b>: k<\/span>nit 2, work 2\/2 rib until 2 stitches before the end, Knit 2<\/span>. <\/span>Turn over the work<\/span>

Repeat these last 2 rows once more.<\/span><\/p>

Close as follows: knit 6 stitches, close all stitches until 6 stitches before the end, knit 6 stitches. Work over these 6 stitches.<\/span><\/p>

How to knit the shoulder strap of the tank top<\/h3>

Work the 6 stitches left on the needles, starting on the wrong side, like this:
<\/span>right <\/b>side<\/b>: <\/span>knit 2, purl <\/span>2 <\/span>stitches and lastly knit 2 stitches
<\/span>wrong side<\/b>: knit 6.<\/span><\/p>

Continue to like this until the shoulder strap measures approximately 22cm \/ 8.7″. Close the links.<\/span>
<\/p>

Repeat for the other shoulder strap.<\/span><\/p>

How to knit the back of the tank top<\/h3>
