The vase holder, made using the needle punch technique, is a cute and fun way to embellish the vase of your living room plant. You can also customise it with the colours of your choice, thus make the environment warmer. For those who <\/span>already<\/span> <\/span>have some experienced with the needle punch technique it is an simple project to carry out, while for beginners, a little practice will be needed with the equipment and the needle punch technique.<\/span><\/p>

But what really makes this project <\/span>special<\/span> <\/span>is our <\/span>our best selling<\/span> Piuma yarn. It is our best seller beacause it is a wick, slightly twisted, in pure merino wool. In fact, it comes from our extra fine merino tops. It is worked and dyed in Prato. It is Oeko-Tex certified<\/a><\/b>, an important feature for those who, like us, produce and prefer products that respect environmental sustainability parameters.<\/span><\/p>

Furthermore, it is highly versatile. It is perfect for knitting and crocheting. Also ideal for lesser known but very interesting textile techniques such as needle punch and tufting. It is also easily used for hand weaving or embroidery.<\/span><\/p>

In summary, nothing is impossible for our Piuma. And to show this we have created, in collaboration with TA-DAAN<\/a><\/b>, a vase holder using the needle punch technique. It turned out so well that we decided to share it with you and give you the instructions to make one your very own!<\/span><\/p>

How to make a vase holder using the needle punch technique<\/h2>

Piuma yarn<\/a><\/b><\/span> col. Coral, Paradise, Ireland, Raspberry, Florence, Pumpkin, Lily of the Valley, September, Thyme, October 100 g \/ 3.5 oz each<\/span>
<\/span>Needle punch 4 mm<\/span>
Sewing machine<\/span>
Ruler<\/span>
Scissors<\/span>
Pins<\/span>
Raw fabric 35 cm x 50 cm \/ 13.8″ x 19.7″<\/span>
Raw fabric 20 cm x 20 cm \/ 7.9″ x 7.9″<\/span>
Washable fabric marker<\/span>

METHOD<\/span><\/b><\/p>

The vase holder made with the needle punch technique that we propose today has been designed for a vase that has a height of 15.5 cm \/ 6.1 “and a diameter of 14 cm \/ 5.5”, but this does not mean that you cannot make a larger vase holder instead. Just adapt the size of the <\/span>diagram <\/span>to the vase you want to create. We advise you to consult and especially print the diagram in PDF<\/a><\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

Once you have chosen the vase to create and have printed the PDF, you can move on to the practical part of this tutorial.<\/span><\/p>

First, spread the larger fabric on a surface and with the washable marker start drawing the guidelines that you will need to delimit the areas where to use the different colours of the Piuma yarn. We recommend that you leave margins on the sides of the <\/span>diagram<\/span> <\/span>on the fabric, as you will need these additional margins later.<\/span><\/p>


<\/span><\/p>

Once you have recreated the plot of the diagram you can move on to the creative part. In fact, thanks to the needle punch, you can decide how much to make the yarn come out and also choose which color to match the various triangles. In the PDF we suggest our colour combination, but you can combine the colours as you like.<\/span><\/p>


<\/span><\/p>

To help you in this step you can make use of the support you see in the photo, namely, a frame that allows you to keep the fabric in place and therefore to work at its best.<\/span><\/p>

Once you have finished punching the plot of the diagram, you have to move on to making the part that closes the vase holder.<\/span><\/p>


<\/span><\/p>

Take the vase for which you are making the vase holder and put the second smaller piece of fabric under it, and with the help of a pencil or marker trace the circumference. At this point take the scissors and cut it out, making sure to leave a few centimeters of margin.<\/span><\/p>

Now you just have to sew the fabric you just cut to the part of the fabric that will go to the bottom of the vase. For this step you can take advantage of the extra margin you left earlier and you can help yourself with the sewing machine or with the needle and thread.<\/span><\/p>


<\/p>

The last step is to fix the upper fabric that you have left free inside the vase holder. We advise you to stitch the side part to the part that is at the bottom, that is, the one you have just finished sewing.<\/span><\/p>

At this point the vase holder is finished and you just have to apply it to the your <\/span>chosen <\/span>vase!<\/span><\/p>
