Tutorial to knit an under-jacket<\/h2>

MATERIALS
<\/b><\/span>Mademoiselle yarn<\/a><\/b> col. Emerald <\/span>300 g \/ 10.6 oz<\/span>
Knitting needles size n\u00b0 4 EU \/ 6 US<\/span>
Knitting needles size <\/span>n\u00b0 <\/span>5.5 EU \/ 9 US<\/span><\/p>

GAUGE
<\/b><\/span>10 cm x 10 cm \/ 4″ x 4″
<\/span>22 <\/span>stitches<\/span> x 30 rows<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>

STITCHES USED
<\/b><\/span>Rib 1\/1<\/span><\/u>:<\/span>
knit 1 and purl 1. On the next row the stitches are worked as they appear.<\/span><\/p>

SIZE
<\/b><\/span>M<\/span><\/p>

For size S and L, allow a 2 cm variation in width and length both in the underarm and in the neckline.<\/span><\/p>

How to knit the front of the under-jacket<\/h3>

This garment is knitted using two threads.<\/span><\/p>

Cast on 82 stitches, knit 1\/1 rib for 8 rows with knitting needles n\u00b0 4 EU \/ 6 US.<\/span><\/p>

Knit stockinette stitch for 34 rows.<\/span><\/p>

Now change to size <\/span>n\u00b0 <\/span>5.5 EU \/ 9 US.<\/span><\/p>

Row 1<\/span><\/b>: in the centre of 38 stitches purl 1, knit 1 from behind, repeat for 6 rows<\/span>
row 2<\/span><\/b>: purl 1 and 1 double stitch for 6 rows<\/span>
row 3<\/span><\/b>: increase 1 purl stitch and 1 double stitch for 12 rows<\/span>
row 4<\/span><\/b>: increase 1 purl stitch and 1 double stitch.<\/span><\/p>

At this point set the stitches for the working the sleeve hole and at the same time decrease the internal stitches for the rib work. For both the neck and the sleeve holes, continue working on half of the stitches, that is, for 10 stitches, 2 stitches are knit together, for the sleeve opening, close 6 stitches and set the stitching on 7 stitches, execute a stitch passed over. Repeat these instructions until you finish the central stitches worked in stockinette stitch, then continue the decrease on the rib stitches until you have 8 stitches and continue the rib work for 16 rows (under jacket shoulder pad).<\/span><\/p>

How to knit the back of the under-jacket<\/h3>

Knit rib as done for the front, divide the stitches as follows: 23 stockinette stitches, 37 double rib stitches and 23 stockinette stitches, all with knitting needles n\u00b0 4 EU \/ 6 US.<\/span><\/p>


<\/span><\/p>

Now switch to<\/span> <\/span>size <\/span>n\u00b0<\/span> 5.5 EU \/ 9 US.<\/span><\/p>

Row 1<\/span><\/b>: increase 1 stitch for 70 rows<\/span>
row 2<\/span><\/b>: decrease 15 stitches on each part and set the piece as for the excavation of the front sleeve and simultaneously decrease the internal rib stitches until there is a total of 20 rib stitches<\/span>
row 3<\/span><\/b>: continue the central work for 12 rows, then do 2 increases on each side 4 times, so you will have 36 stitches. Proceed like this for 10 rows.<\/span><\/p>

Close all stitches, sew taking care to hide the tails of the threads.<\/span><\/p>

Now the under jacket is ready to be worn.<\/span><\/p>
