Spring has just begun. And with it, in addition to flower blossoms, comes a thousand ideas for refreshing your wardrobe. Today we offer you a free pattern to create a crop top with fluorescent highlights. With long sleeves, yes, but to be worn on cooler days and evenings of the year as the base of the yarn with which it was made is cotton.<\/span><\/p>

Which yarn do we speak of? Our Pop of course. A true masterpiece from our textile district, Prato. A yarn with fluorescent brushstrokes enriched by a boucl\u00e9 yarn that makes it full-bodied and truly original. You can only find Pop on our shop. Plus, Pop, like all our yarns, is designed to last over time and is therefore also a friend of slow fashion.<\/span><\/p>

The colour chosen for this project is Maracuja but you can find many other colours on our store. All colourful and luminescent!<\/span><\/p>

Tutorial: how to knit a crop jumper<\/h2>

MATERIALS
<\/b><\/span>Pop yarn<\/a><\/b> col. Maracuja 400 g \/ 14.1 oz for size S<\/span>
Knitting needles n\u00b0 7 EU \/ 10 US<\/span>
Wool needle<\/span><\/p>

GAUGE<\/span><\/b>
10 cm x 10 cm \/ 4″ x 4″<\/span>
11.5 stitches and 17.5 rows<\/span>
In square stitch.<\/span><\/p>

KNITTING STITCHES USED
<\/b><\/span>Right<\/span>
Reverse<\/span>
Knit into back<\/span><\/u>:<\/span>
knit the stitch in the back loop of the stitch below.<\/span>
Purl into back<\/span><\/u>:<\/span>
purl the stitch in the back loop of the stitch below.<\/span>
Rib 1\/1<\/span><\/u>:<\/span>
work alternating 1 knit and 1 purl on both the right side and the wrong side of the work.<\/span>

row 1 and 4: repeat (knit 2, purl 2) until the last 2 stitches, knit the last 2 stitches<\/span>
row 2 and 3: repeat (purl 2, knit 2) until the last 2 stitches, purl the last 2 stitches<\/span>
Repeat rows 1 to 4 (the stitch is a multiple of 4 stitches + 2).<\/span><\/p>

PROCEDURE<\/span><\/b><\/p>

The jumper is worked flat and is made up of 4 pieces: the back, the front and the sleeves. The neck is worked after sewing a shoulder.<\/span><\/p>


<\/span><\/p>

How to knit the back and upper part of the sleeves<\/h3>

With knitting needles n\u00b0 7 EU \/ 10 US cast on 66 (70, 78) stitches and work 12 rows in rib 1\/1 and 18 (18, 20) rows in square stitch: you arrive at row 30 (30, 32).<\/span><\/p>

The procedure continues differently for the 3 sizes.<\/span><\/p>

Sizes S and M<\/b><\/span>
Row 31<\/span><\/b>: cast on 12 new stitches, repeat (purl 2, knit 2) until the last 2 stitches, purl the last 2 stitches, then cast on 12 new stitches<\/span>
row 32<\/span><\/b>: repeat (knit 2, purl 2) on the new stitches and on the following stitches until the last 2 new stitches, knit the last 2 stitches.<\/span><\/p>

Size L<\/b><\/span>
Row 33<\/span><\/b>: cast on 12 new stitches, repeat (knit 2, purl 2) until the last 2 stitches, knit the last 2 stitches, then cast on 12 new stitches<\/span>
row 34<\/span><\/b>: repeat (purl 2, knit 2) on the new stitches and on the following stitches until the last 2 new stitches, purl the last 2 stitches.<\/span><\/p>

With the last 2 rows, you have increased the stitches for the sleeves and you have 90 (94, 102) stitches on the needle.<\/span><\/p>

The process continues again for all sizes. Continue with square stitch following the setting given for another 26 (30, 34) rows: you arrive at row 58 (62, 68), equal to 32 (34, 38) cm \/ 12.6″ (13.4″, 15″). Now shape the sleeves and shoulders: for simplicity, the numbering of the rows starts from 1.<\/span><\/p>

Row 1<\/b>: bind off 3 stitches, continue with square stitch until the last 3 stitches, bind off the last 3 stitches.<\/span><\/p>

Row 1 sets the decreases of 3 stitches on the sides, repeat it another 1 (2, 6) times: you arrive at row 2 (3, 7) with 78 (76, 60) stitches on the needle.<\/span><\/p>

Row 3 (4, 8)<\/b>: bind off 2 stitches, continue with square stitch until the last 2 stitches, bind off the last 2 stitches.<\/span><\/p>

Row 3 (4, 8) sets the decreases of 2 stitches on the sides, repeat it another 13 (12, 8) times: you arrive at row 16, equal to 9 cm \/ 3.5″, with 22 (24, 24) stitches on the iron.<\/span><\/p>

Bind off the piece.<\/span><\/p>

How to knit the front and upper part of the sleeves<\/h3>

With knitting needles n\u00b0 7 EU \/ 10 US cast on 66 (70, 78) stitches and work as explained for the back.<\/span><\/p>

How to knit the bottom of the sleeves<\/h3>

Start from the bottom of the right sleeve.<\/span><\/p>

With knitting needles n\u00b0 7 EU \/ 10 US cast on 28 (30, 30) stitches and work 9 rows in 1\/1 rib.<\/span><\/p>

Row 10 size S<\/span><\/b>: work 1 stitch in 1\/1 rib, increase 1 stitch in the next stitch (= work the stitch 2 times, 1 time knit\/purl and once purl twisted\/knit twisted depending on how the rib looks), repeat (1 stitch in 1\/1 rib, increase 1 stitch in the next stitch) until the end of the row.<\/span><\/p>

Row 10 size M<\/span><\/b>: repeat (1 stitch in 1\/1 rib, increase 1 stitch in the next stitch) 7 times, increase 1 stitch in the next 2 stitches, repeat (1 stitch in 1\/1 rib, increase 1 stitch in the next stitch ) 7 times.<\/span><\/p>

Row 10 size L<\/span><\/b>: repeat (1 stitch in 1\/1 rib, increase 1 stitch in the next stitch) 6 times, work 1 stitch in 1\/1 rib, increase 1 stitch in the next 4 stitches, work 1 stitch in 1\/1 rib 1, repeat (increase 1 stitch in the next stitch, 1 stitch in 1\/1 rib) 6 times.<\/span><\/p>

You now have 42 (46, 50) stitches on the needle. Continue with square stitch for 24 rows (you arrive at row 34).<\/span><\/p>

Row 35<\/span><\/b>: bind off 2 stitches, continue with square stitch until the last 2 stitches, bind off 2 stitches<\/span>
row 36<\/span><\/b>: work in square stitch.<\/span><\/p>

Bind off the piece.<\/span><\/p>

Work the lower part of the left sleeve as explained for the lower part of the right sleeve.<\/span><\/p>

How to knit the finishing touches<\/h4>

Sew the shoulder and the top of one sleeve. For the neck, use knitting needles n\u00b0 7 EU \/ 10 US to pick up the stitches evenly and in an even number along the front neckline and the back neckline. Work 6 rows in 1\/1 rib, then bind off the piece. Sew the height of the neck, the other shoulder and the top of the other sleeve. Assemble the bottom part of the sleeves. Sew the underarms and sides.<\/span><\/p>
