Today, we\u2019re sharing a pattern to create just that kind of sweater. We think it\u2019s perfect for wearing during the upcoming Christmas holidays, or simply as a standout piece for any day when you feel like being the center of attention\u2014because with this sweater, you\u2019ll definitely catch everyone\u2019s eye!<\/span><\/p>

The yarn we\u2019ve chosen for this pattern is Marilyn, and the name is no coincidence. It\u2019s dedicated to Marilyn Monroe, the symbol of blonde femininity, subtle irony, and eternal sparkle. Just like our yarn, which you see here in the Hazelnut color but is available in many other shades in our store. Marilyn is made with 95% merino wool and can also be used for hand weaving.<\/span><\/p>

Tutorial for knitting a high-neck sweater<\/h2>

Twisted knit<\/span><\/u>:<\/span>
knit the stitch through the back loop of the underlying stitch.<\/span>
Rib 2\/2<\/span><\/u>: <\/span>
alternate 2 knit stitches and 2 purl stitches on both the front and back of the work.<\/span>
Stockinette stitch<\/span><\/u>:<\/span>
row 1: Knit. Row 2: Purl. Repeat rows 1 and 2.<\/span>

Using knitting needles n\u00b0 7 EU \/ 10\u00bd US, cast on 74 (78, 82) stitches.<\/span><\/p>

Row 1<\/span><\/b>: 2 purl stitches, repeat (2 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches) to the end of the row<\/span>
row 2<\/span><\/b>: 2 knit stitches, repeat (2 purl stitches, 2 knit stitches) to the end of the row.<\/span><\/p>

Rows 1 and 2 set up the 2\/2 ribbing for the border; repeat these rows for an additional 8 times, reaching row 18, which is 9 cm \/ 3.5″. Now continue in stockinette stitch for 40 rows, reaching row 58, which is 30 cm \/ 15.7″.<\/span><\/p>

Row 59<\/span><\/b>: Bind off the first 3 stitches for the armhole, continue knitting until the last 3 stitches, bind off the last 3 stitches for the armhole<\/span>
row 60<\/span><\/b>: Purl the stitches<\/span>
row 61<\/span><\/b>: Knit 1 stitch, decrease 1 stitch by working a simple slip stitch over the next 2 stitches, continue knitting until the last 3 stitches, decrease 1 stitch by knitting 2 stitches together over the next 2 stitches, knit the last stitch<\/span>

Row 59<\/span><\/b>: Bind off the first 3 stitches for the armhole, continue knitting until the last 3 stitches, bind off the last 3 stitches for the armhole<\/span>

How to make the finishing touches<\/h4>

Sew 3 of the 4 raglan seams (leave one open at the front). For the collar, using needles size 7 EU \/ 10\u00bd US, pick up stitches around the front neckline, the top of one sleeve, the back neckline, and the top of the other sleeve: the final number of stitches should be a multiple of 4. Work in 2\/2 ribbing for 44 rows or until the desired height is reached, then bind off the work. Sew the collar and the open raglan seam. Bind off the armholes and sides.<\/span><\/p>
