Today’s pattern will guide you through making a truly extraordinary piece. A vest with applied flowers, utterly sophisticated. This vest requires working with both knitting needles and a crochet hook. The chosen yarn is the luxurious Fluffy lam\u00e9, made of silk and kid mohair. A true treat for the skin and a feast for the eyes. Here we’ve combined two colors, Storm and Mist, to create a new, more complex shade.<\/span><\/p>

The entire garment \u2013 including the flowers \u2013 is worked with 4 strands, 2 of each of the 2 colors. It is worked flat in 2 pieces, back and front. The neckband is worked after one shoulder is sewn. The flowers are made separately with crochet and then sewn onto the front.<\/span><\/p>

How to make the back<\/h3>

With knitting needles n\u00b0 4 EU \/ 6 US and the yarn held fourfold (2 strands of each of the 2 colors together), cast on 58 (62, 68) stitches and work 2 rows in tubular stitch.<\/span><\/p>

Row 3<\/span><\/b>: knit 1, decrease 1 stitch by working a slip, knit, pass slipped stitch over (SKP) on the next 2 stitches, knit to the last 3 stitches, decrease 1 stitch by knitting 2 stitches together, knit the last stitch<\/span>
row 4<\/span><\/b>: purl<\/span>
rows 5 to 18<\/span><\/b>: work in stockinette stitch.<\/span><\/p>

Rows 3 to 18 set stockinette stitch with side decreases; repeat them 4 more times, then work in stockinette stitch without decreases for another 0 (2, 4) rows: you will be at row 82 (84, 86), measuring 49 (50, 51) cm \/ 19.3″ (19.7″, 20.1″), with 48 (52, 58) stitches on the needle.<\/span><\/p>

How to finish<\/h4>

Sew one shoulder, then work a chain stitch with crochet along the right side of the seam. For the neck, with knitting needles n\u00b0 4 EU \/ 6 US and the yarn held fourfold (2 strands of each of the 2 colors together), pick up stitches around the neckline and work in stockinette stitch for 10 rows, about 6 cm \/ 2.4″. Bind off. Sew the other shoulder, then work a chain stitch with crochet along the right side of the seam. Close the neck side seam. Sew the side seams.<\/span><\/p>

With crochet hook n\u00b0 3 EU \/ D US, make 2 flowers with 6 petals and 13 flowers with 8 petals.<\/span><\/p>

For the 6‑petal flowers<\/b>: with crochet hook n\u00b0 3 EU \/ D US and the yarn held fourfold (2 strands of each of the 2 colors together), chain 5 and join in the round with a slip stitch, then work (chain 8, slip stitch) 6 times around the starting chains. Cut and fasten the yarn.<\/span><\/p>
