Arm warmers are the kind of accessory you either love or hate, there\u2019s no in-between. One thing\u2019s for sure: they\u2019re a very fashion‑forward piece that never really goes out of style and they do a great job of keeping your arms and hands warm while adding an extra stylish touch. The shape is simple: a tube with an opening for the thumb so it wraps nicely around the arm.<\/span><\/p>

The knitted arm warmers we\u2019re sharing today are simple in terms of stitch pattern too, and what really makes them special is the yarn: Cashlove, a recycled cashmere. Strong and hard‑wearing, available in many colors. The more you wash it, the softer it becomes.<\/span><\/p>

Tutorial for knitting recycled cashmere arm warmers<\/h2>

MATERIALS

Knitting needles n\u00b0 3\u00bd EU \/ 4 US<\/span>
Yarn needle<\/span><\/p>

Double knit stitch<\/span><\/u>:<\/span>
insert the right needle into the stitch in the row below, directly under the next stitch, and work 1 stitch in knit.<\/span>
Garter selvedge stitch<\/span><\/u>:<\/span>
work in knit on both right side and wrong side of the work.<\/span>
Tubular cast-on<\/span><\/u>:<\/span>
with waste yarn in a contrasting color cast on half the required stitches + 1, then with working yarn knit 1 stitch into each following stitch, making 1 yarn over between one stitch and the next.<\/span>

The arm warmers are worked flat, in a single piece, and seamed along the sides at the end. The entire piece is worked with the yarn held triple.<\/span><\/p>

For the first arm warmer, with knitting needles n\u00b0 3\u00bd EU \/ 4 US and the yarn held triple cast on 61 stitches using the tubular cast-on.<\/span><\/p>

Row 1<\/span><\/b>: knit the first stitch, repeat (1 stitch in knit, bring the yarn to the front of the work and slip the next stitch purlwise without working it) to the last 2 stitches, knit the last 2 stitches<\/span>
row 2<\/span><\/b>: knit the first stitch, repeat (knit the stitches slipped, that is not worked, on the previous row and slip purlwise without working them the stitches worked in knit on the previous row) to the last stitch, knit the last stitch.
