Thermoformable wool felt is a versatile and durable material that, thanks to a small percentage of polyester, can be shaped by heat and stably maintain the resulting shape. Its compact and uniform structure makes it easy to cut, sew and shape, without fraying. Due to the combination of natural fibers and dimensional stability, it is particularly suitable for three-dimensional creations, accessories, decorations and creative design projects that require precision and durability.
The colors of this felt come from blending the natural tones of raw, undyed wools, enhancing the authenticity of the raw material. The result is a harmonious and sophisticated palette capable of evoking a natural, contemporary and timeless aesthetic, in which every shade tells of the wool’s original purity and beauty.
Availability and packaging.
1 m, 5 m and 10 m packs are available. Quantities within these packages are shipped in a single cut.
Felt by the meter is shipped folded and bagged (with the exception of the 10-m package) to optimize volume and save shipping costs. Creases due to this packaging are not a defect in the product and disappear by ironing the felt (taking care to place a protective cotton cloth between the material and the iron plate). Should you wish to receive the felt rolled on a cardboard core please write to info@dhgshop.it. We will be happy to find a solution that best suits your needs!
Please note: shipping on a roll may result in freight surcharges.
Vegetable impurities
These types of carded wools go through several steps in production. They range from carbonizing to washing, dyeing, and carding. However, it is not possible to completely eliminate vegetable impurities, which should be regarded as an inherent characteristic and not a quality defect of the product.

The Bergschaf wool used for this felt comes from farms located in the alpine regions ofCentral Europe, where pastoralism has a long tradition and where animals are raised in natural and controlled environments.
The supply chain is monitored along the main processing stages, from fiber harvesting to industrial processing, with the goal of ensuring quality continuity, transparency and reliability of the material over time.
The wool comes from European farms where the practice of mulesing is not used.
The dyes used for our products meet the requirements of the OEKO-TEX standard, which guarantees the control and limitation of substances potentially harmful to human health and the environment.
Fiber dyeing is carried out in our dyehouse in Italy, in compliance with current European regulations on chemicals and environmental safety, including the REACH Regulation (EC No. 1907/2006), which governs the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemical substances.
Operating within the European Union also entails compliance with additional provisions on environmental protection and textile product safety, such as the CLP Regulation (EC No. 1272/2008), relating to the classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures. This regulatory framework ensures that dyeing processes are conducted according to high standards of safety, traceability and environmental responsibility, offering a reliable product for both the end user and the environment.
This felt can be used as a traditional felt (cut, sewn, glued) but also by taking advantage of its thermoformability.
Thermoformability is the ability of a material to be shaped through the application of heat and to stably maintain the resulting shape once cooled. In the case of felt, this characteristic makes it possible to create volumes, curves, and three-dimensional structures easily and durably. Learn more about how to thermoform it by downloading the pdf of instructions, just click on the DOC button in the extra content area.
Rolls should be stored horizontally to avoid the reduction in height caused by compression.
Since colors may vary depending on your device's monitor settings, we recommend that you purchase our Color Folder so you can check the colors live before placing your final order. Want to check the quality of the material? Purchase our Quality Reference.
