Jungle is a yarn with a dynamic and contemporary character, born from the meeting of natural and technical fibers that work together to create volume, lightness and strength. Its identity is built on a rich, multi-layered composition, where alpaca and wool bring softness and warmth, while synthetic fibers help stabilize the structure of the yarn and improve its durability.
Included in the Rehab selection, this yarn represents a conscious choice: it comes from the recovery of unused stock, which is given a new creative chance. It is a concrete example of circular economy applied to textiles, in which quality materials are enhanced instead of being dispersed.
Availability and packaging
Our Jungle is available in 100 g balls, which can be purchased individually. Each package has a natural tolerance of ±3%.
Composition: 32% Alpaca - 22% Polyamide - 34% Acrylic - 12% Virgin Wool
Length: approx. 220 yards per 100 g / 240 yards per 3.5 oz
Yarn type: Chunky, Craft, Rug.
Yarn tension with needles: 14 stitches and 17 rows in a shaved knit 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in.
Yarn tension with crochet hook: 13 stitches and 17 rows in a low knit 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in.
This yarn comes from one of the many textile companies in the Prato textile district. We selected it for you because we believe it has potential to express!
Jungle is worked with rather thick needles and crochet hooks.
With needles: beautiful shaved knit and ribbed, plain or raised work.
Withcrochet: the ideal knit is low knit. Perfect is the raised ring fur stitch.
Tips for working and care.
Our colors generally have high light fastness and wash fastness. Exceptions are fluorescent colors, which have low light fastness and may release color in the presence of alkaline or harsh soaps and with prolonged washing. The same applies to dark, bright colors. In all these cases, it is essential to test a small sample before starting the project, especially if these materials are combined with raw or light-colored fibers. In any case, it is always a good idea to dry artifacts away from direct sunlight, preferably in semi-shade.
A practical tip: Buying balls or spools of different baths can cause what is known as the barred effect: subtle variations in shade that seem invisible when comparing balls and spools, but become apparent once worked. Therefore, always be sure to buy some yarn in excess of what is needed for your project. We will be sure to send you spools and balls of the same lot.
