Needle felting needles are the fundamental tool of the needle felting technique, a method of dry wool processing that allows the fiber to be shaped through repeated mechanical action. Each needle is designed to transform textile fibers (including vegan fibers) into a firm, stable, sculptural material without the use of water or soap. Their steel structure features a thin tip and small micro-barbs along the shaft, elements that allow them to “hook” the wool fibers during vertical movement. With each insertion into the fiber cluster, the needle drags and weaves the individual fibers together, causing the material to gradually compact until it stabilizes. This process makes it possible to create three-dimensional shapes, compact surfaces or extremely precise details by simply modulating the number of needle passes and the density of the felting stitches.

Availability and packaging.
Packages of 5, 20 and 50 pieces are available.

Stainless steel felting needles.
They can be used individually or inserted into a multi-needle puncher.

Our needles are made in Germany.

Fine needles: suitable for fine fibers with micronage less than 20 microns (e.g., extra fine merino wool, cashmere, yak).
Medium needles: suitable for ordinary fibers with micronage between 20 and 30 microns (e.g., maori wool).
Medium star needles: suitable for ordinary fibers with micronage between 20 and 30 microns (e.g., maori wool). The special star structure makes needling even more efficient due to the distribution of barbs over 4 corners.
Medium crown needles: suitable for ordinary fibers with micronage between 20 and 30 microns (e.g., maori wool). The crown structure ensures a truly unique result and an even, velvety final texture.
Medium fork needles: suitable for ordinary fibers with micronage between 20 and 30 microns (e.g., Maori wool). The fork structure allows for very dense and compact surfaces with almost invisible holes.
Medium reverse needles: suitable for ordinary fibers with micronage between 20 and 30 microns (e.g., maori wool). This type of needle allows tufts of fiber to be extracted from the felted piece and are therefore excellent for adding three-dimensional effects or bringing internal/underlying colors to the surface.
Coarse needles: suitable for coarse fibers with micronage over 30 microns (e.g., bergschaf wool).
