Loading...POP is a yarn with a strongly expressive identity, built on a recycled cotton base enriched with a polyamide component that stabilizes its structure and amplifies its strength. Its particularity lies in its bouclé processing and color contrasts, which generate an irregular, dynamic and three-dimensional surface. The yarn is born to be a protagonist: its structure is not neutral, but deliberately scenic, designed to create obvious textures even in simple workings. The presence of polyamide allows it to maintain elasticity and hold, while recycled cotton gives body and a natural base to the construction. The result is a contemporary, vibrant and highly decorative material.
Availability and packaging
Our Pop is available in 100 g balls, which can be purchased individually or in packs of 10 per color. Each pack has a natural tolerance of ±3%. The different packages are designed both for those who need small quantities and for those who need large quantities and/or want to save.

Raw materials used in DHG's yarns are selected and purchased from areas of the world where each specific fiber expresses the best natural and performance qualities. Depending on the type, the fibers come from vocated and traditionally specialized regions, chosen to ensure high standards of purity, fineness and textile performance. Once selected, the fibers enter a transformation process that combines technical expertise and craftsmanship savoir-faire. In fact, yarns such as POP are made through a careful twisting process, largely carried out with a still strongly artisanal approach in the textile district of Prato, a historic international center for fiber processing.
This balance between global sourcing and local processing allows the characteristics of each fiber to be maximized, resulting in yarns that combine quality, identity and manufacturing tradition.
Pop is worked with fairly thick needles and crochet hooks. Beautiful weaving (although you have to be experienced to weave it without ruining the texture) and macramé projects as well.

With needles: beautiful shaved knitting and other smooth workings. Since it is already a very decorative yarn, combinations with other plain yarns with stripe and inlay effects are very beautiful.
Withcrochet: low knitting is ideal, even alternating chains or other yarns. If you want to knit other types of stitches (such as high crochet), it is advisable to use larger crochet hooks (7 and up).
With the loom: we worked the yarn with a 32:10 comb-loom (3.2 threads/cm). Pop is not a yarn that was born for weaving, but we think it is always worth experimenting if we accept some limitations and enjoy new challenges. The results, unexpected, may even surprise. Use preferably in weft and where possible combined with other yarns. Caution: during processing, twisted yarn on cotton webbing tends to slip and thicken. It thus creates effects that cannot be repeated or controlled, but we love the aesthetic result. It's almost a tweed pop!
Tips for working and care.
Our colors generally have high light fastness and wash fastness. Exceptions are fluorescent colors, which have low light fastness and may release color in the presence of alkaline or harsh soaps and with prolonged washing. The same applies to dark, bright colors. In all these cases, it is essential to test a small sample before starting the project, especially if these materials are combined with raw or light-colored fibers. In any case, it is always a good idea to dry artifacts away from direct sunlight, preferably in semi-shade.
A practical tip: Buying balls or spools of different baths can cause what is known as the barred effect: subtle variations in shade that seem invisible when comparing balls and spools, but become apparent once worked. Therefore, always be sure to buy some yarn in excess of what is needed for your project. We will be sure to send you spools and balls of the same lot.
