***Bias cutting ensures high quality because it prevents the tape from splaying less easily. This determines that joints may occur in the tape every 2 meters or so, these are not to be considered as a defect but rather as a necessary element in order to achieve a continuous tape. In each roll, there is always about 10 percent extra material, inserted deliberately to balance the waste due to bias cut splices and because sometimes the part of the fabric directly in contact with the cardboard core tends to be uneven.
The silk chiffon ribbon consists of a strip of lightweight, semi-transparent fabric obtained by bias cutting our 6 momme silk chiffon. This structure provides a fluid drape, a delicate hand and a good ability to adapt to different shapes and volumes. The edges can appear natural or slightly frayed, a feature that contributes to the textural and handcrafted aesthetic of the product.
Silk chiffon has its roots in the Asian textile tradition, particularly in China, where silk production has a history dating back thousands of years. Over time, this fabric spread to Europe and became a symbol of refinement and prestige, thanks to its lightness and ethereal appearance. Even today, the silk used for chiffon production comes mainly from areas with a long silk tradition, where technical skills and fiber quality ensure high standards of processing.

Fiber dyeing is carried out in our dyehouse in Italy, in compliance with current European regulations on chemicals and environmental safety, including the REACH Regulation (EC no. 1907/2006), which governs the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals.
Operating within the European Union also entails compliance with additional environmental protection and textile safety regulations, such as the CLP Regulation (EC no. 1272/2008) on the classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures. This regulatory framework ensures that dyeing processes are conducted according to high standards of safety, traceability and environmental responsibility, providing a reliable product for both the end user and the environment.
