Code 8940

A second life to wool, new forms to creativity.

Select a product

Thermoformable recycled wool felt is a compact and versatile material obtained through the recovery and processing of textile fibers into wool. Its uniform structure makes it stable and easy to work with, while maintaining a pleasant materiality typical of felt. Thanks to its composition and controlled processing, it can be shaped by heat and retain the shape obtained, making it ideal for three-dimensional, decorative projects and creative applications that require structure and precision.
A solution that combines functionality and attention to fiber recovery, offering a reliable material suitable for durable processing.

Availability and packaging.
1 m, 5 m and 20 m packs are available. Quantities within these packages are shipped in a single cut.
Felt by the meter is shipped folded and bagged (with the exception of the 20-m package) to optimize volume and save shipping costs. Creases due to this packaging are not a defect in the product and disappear by ironing the felt (taking care to place a protective cotton cloth between the material and the iron plate). Should you wish to receive the felt rolled on a cardboard core please write to info@dhgshop.it. We will be happy to find a solution that best suits your needs!
Please note: shipping in rolls may result in freight surcharges.

Vegetable impurities
These types of carded wools go through several steps in production. They range from carbonizing to washing, dyeing, and carding. However, it is not possible to completely eliminate vegetable impurities, which should be regarded as an inherent characteristic and not a quality defect of the product.

Our felt is made from post-consumer regenerated wool, which is obtained by recycling used clothing.
Because regenerated wool has very short fibers, it is blended with virgin wool and polyester. This combination results in a durable, high-performance material comparable to a product made entirely from virgin wool. In addition, the presence of polyester gives the felt thermoformability properties.

The use of regenerated wool allows materials that would otherwise become waste to be given a second life. In addition, it has been calculated that producing 1 kg of felt with regenerated wool, compared to virgin wool, results in significant savings in resources and environmental impact:

The dyes used for our products meet the requirements of the OEKO-TEX standard, which ensures the control and limitation of substances potentially harmful to human health and the environment.

Fiber dyeing is carried out in our dyehouse in Italy, in compliance with current European regulations on chemicals and environmental safety, including the REACH Regulation (EC No. 1907/2006), which governs the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemical substances.
Operating within the European Union also entails compliance with additional provisions on environmental protection and textile product safety, such as the CLP Regulation (EC No. 1272/2008), relating to the classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures. This regulatory framework ensures that dyeing processes are conducted according to high standards of safety, traceability and environmental responsibility, offering a reliable product for both the end user and the environment.

This felt can be used as a traditional felt (cut, sewn, glued) but also by taking advantage of its thermoformability.
Thermoformability is the ability of a material to be shaped through the application of heat and to stably maintain the resulting shape once cooled. In the case of felt, this characteristic makes it possible to create volumes, curves, and three-dimensional structures easily and durably. Learn more about how to thermoform it by downloading the pdf of instructions, just click on the DOC button in the extra content area.

Rolls should be stored horizontally to avoid the reduction in height caused by compression.

Since colors may vary depending on your device's monitor settings, we recommend that you purchase our Color Folder so you can check the colors live before placing your final order. Want to check the quality of the material? Purchase our Quality Reference.
