Thermoformable wool felt is a versatile and durable material that, thanks to a small percentage of polyester, can be shaped by heat and stably maintain the resulting shape. Its compact and uniform structure makes it easy to cut, sew and shape, without fraying. Due to the combination of natural fibers and dimensional stability, it is particularly suitable for three-dimensional creations, accessories, decorations and creative design projects that require precision and durability.
Availability and packaging.
1 m, 5 m and 20 m packs are available. Quantities within these packages are shipped in a single cut.
Felt by the meter is shipped folded and bagged (with the exception of the 20-m package) to optimize volume and save shipping costs. Creases due to this packaging are not a defect in the product and disappear by ironing the felt (taking care to place a protective cotton cloth between the material and the iron plate). Should you wish to receive the felt rolled on a cardboard core please write to info@dhgshop.it. We will be happy to find a solution that best suits your needs!
Please note: shipping on a roll may result in shipping surcharges.
Vegetable impurities
These types of carded wools go through several steps in production. They range from carbonizing to washing, dyeing, and carding. However, it is not possible to completely eliminate vegetable impurities, which should be regarded as an inherent characteristic and not a quality defect of the product.

The wool used in the production of this felt comes from New Zealand and is the same blend used for our "Maori" wool. Thanks to a long pastoral tradition and well-established production standards, New Zealand wools are distinguished by their good workability and ability to ensure stable and uniform results over time. Because of these characteristics, they are particularly suitable for felt and creative applications that require fastness, durability and predictability of material.
This felt can be used as a traditional felt (cut, sewn, glued) but also by taking advantage of its thermoformability.
Thermoformability is the ability of a material to be shaped through the application of heat and to stably maintain the resulting shape once cooled. In the case of felt, this characteristic makes it possible to create volumes, curves and three-dimensional structures easily and durably. Learn more about how to thermoform it by downloading the pdf of instructions, just click on the DOC button in the extra content area.
Rolls should be stored horizontally to avoid the reduction in height caused by compression.
