VIVIENNE – 50 G

Vivienne – 50 g

Select a product

A yarn that lives in the perfect balance between two material souls: the ethereal lightness of kid mohair and the natural stability of cotton. Vivienne interprets this encounter in a contemporary key, creating a soft, airy yet more defined texture than classic pure mohair yarns. The mohair component creates volume and diffuse luminosity, an almost impalpable texture that envelops without weighing down, while the cotton introduces a firmer, more controlled base that lends character and wearability to the yarn. The result is an elegant and modern material, capable of combining romanticism and concreteness in a single textile gesture.
Designed for refined yet everyday projects, Vivienne is ideal for those seeking a light yet structured, soft yet stable yarn with a delicate and contemporary personality.

The raw materials used in DHG's yarns are selected and purchased from areas of the world where each specific fiber expresses the best natural qualities and performance. Depending on the type, the fibers come from vocated and traditionally specialized regions, chosen to ensure high standards of purity, fineness and textile performance. Once selected, the fibers enter a transformation process that combines technical expertise and craftsmanship savoir-faire. In fact, yarns such as Vivienne are made through careful twisting, largely carried out with a still strongly artisanal approach in the textile district of Prato, a historic international center for fiber processing.
This balance between global sourcing and local processing allows the characteristics of each fiber to be maximized, resulting in yarns that combine quality, identity and manufacturing tradition.

The Vivienne is worked with medium-thickness needles and crochet hooks (ideal 4 and 4.5 and 5 for braids and reliefs).

With needles: shaved knit is smooth and flat, decorative because of the mottling of colors and the hairy, slightly irregular presence of mohair. In addition to shaved knitting, reliefs and openwork can also be worked.

Withcrochet: in addition to low knitting, higher knits can be worked but keeping in mind that if there are a lot of loops to close on the crochet the mohair can create some difficulties.

Tips for working and care.

Our colors generally have high lightfastness and washfastness. Exceptions are fluorescent colors which have low lightfastness and may release color in the presence of alkaline or harsh soaps and with prolonged washing. The same applies to dark and bright colors. In all these cases it's essential to test a small sample before starting the project, especially if these materials are combined with raw or light-colored fibers. In any case, it's always good practice to dry finished items away from direct sunlight, preferably in shade.

A practical tip: Buying balls or spools of different baths can cause what is known as the barred effect: subtle variations in shade that seem invisible when comparing balls and spools, but become apparent once worked. Therefore, always be sure to buy some yarn in excess of what is needed for your project. We will be sure to send you spools and balls of the same lot.

Colors in real life.
Since colors may vary depending on your screen settings, we recommend purchasing our Color Card to check them in person before placing your final order.
