DHG Selects Clover: Bamboo needles and much more

Clover is an iconic company. Founded in 1925 in Osaka, it produces accessories for knitting, crochet, needle felting and sewing of the utmost quality. It is for this reason that we have chosen their products for our shop, to offer our customers the best of the best. Crochet hooks, stitch markers and punches. There are also needles made with currently the most eco-sustainable material, bamboo.

Those who follow us here at DHG know how sensitive we are to the topic of sustainable development. It must be admitted that it is very complicated for a company like ours, a world leader in the industrial dyeing sector, to achieve exceptional results in relation to quality and at the same time ensuring we are taking care of our planet. Nonetheless, we still take up this challenge with vigour and do our part, in small steps, with everyday decisions. Today’s choice is to adopt knitting needles and crochet hooks made of bamboo.

Bamboo, originally of the Far East, is today considered the most environmentally sustainable material in the world. There are many reasons for this. First and foremost because it grows spontaneously and abundantly, and at an incredible pace. Also, you can create almost anything with it, from flooring to bicycles, from paper to furniture. Additionally, a bamboo grove absorbs much more carbon dioxide than a forest of trees can and releases more oxygen too. Bamboo requires less water to grow, rainwater alone can be sufficient if the plantations are situated in locations where it rains frequently. Furthermore, its deep roots help to counteract soil erosion.

These are just some of the outstanding features of bamboo. A product of nature that, if used with knowledge and intelligence, can truly contribute to reversing the outlook of our planet.

Clover needles, light and ecological, are awaiting you on the shop.
