Felt dolls – Christmas according to DHG

Manusa’s felt dolls

Since our newsletter came out, a few days ago, a lot of you wrote us to ask where we had found those lovely felt dolls. There are no secrets, this is just our latest collaboration with Manusa.

This Christmas we need tenderness, the comfort of home. Nice things and a chance to feel like children again. What better than these strictly handmade felt dolls? The characters are just as Christmassy as it gets: a reindeer, a snowman, a gingerbread man, a penguin and a bear.

The colors we chose hint at the minimal Nordic style. So trendy lately for interior design and that (we are not going to lie!) we are just mad about.

So, out of our thermoformable felt collection, we picked Bordeaux, Stone and Turtledove, which the women from Manusa made even more beautiful and vibrant by juxtaposing it with bright colors such as sky blue, orange and pink.

The details we prefer are the contrasting topstitches. Little touches that make these felt dolls lively and unique. Also, the little wool scarves truly make a difference.

And here they are, all together, our mascots for Christmas 2016. Stock up on inspiration.

Now all you have to do is get to work on your own felt dolls. You know where to find the thermoformable felt. The rest is up to your imagination. Indeed, these soft felt dolls are not only adorable but also very versatile. They obviously make for very original and cuddly play mates for children, but they can also become something else. For example, I used them as unique placeholders for the Christmas dinner: placed on the chairs along with a card with your guests’ name, they will show who sits where. At the end of the dinner, each guest will take their own doll home, to remind them of a special evening. Let the experimenting begin!

Have fun and of course… Happy Holidays!
