Row 1: chain 3 (counts as 1 double crochet), work 1 double crochet in each following chain stitch to the end of the row, turn
row 2: chain 3 (counts as 1 double crochet), repeat (chain 1, skip the next double crochet, 1 double crochet in the next double crochet) to the end of the row, turn
row 3: chain 3 (counts as 1 double crochet), repeat (chain 1, 1 double crochet in the next double crochet) to the end of the row, turn
