Are you ready to learn a knitting stitch that displays a night sky even in broad daylight? Its name is the starry sky stitch.

With this stitch you can create wonderful scarves and even romantic sweaters. We have chosen to combine our Piuma yarn in a printed colour, October, with the starry sky stitch. Needless to say, we are big fans of the result, because it looks like a starry sky, but at the same time ablaze with fire.

Tutorial: how to knit the starry sky stitch

MATERIALS
Piuma yarn col. October 100 g / 3.5 oz
Knitting needles n° 8 EU / 11 US

METHOD

We work off a number of foundation stitches in multiples of 4+3.

Row 1 work on the back side of the project: knit 2, *1 yarn over needle, 1 motif*, always repeat from * to * and finish with knitting 1.

To produce 1 motif: knit 3, then with the left needle cross the 3rd point of the right needle over the following 2 points.

Row 2 and 4: knit all stitches.
row 3: knit 1, *1 motif, 1 yarn over needle*, finish with knitting 2
row 5: repeat from row 1.

Start with the point that precedes the first *, that is, the first dashed red line, repeat from * to * for the entire row and finish with the stitches that follow the second *, that is, the second dashed red line.
