How to knit the thousand arrows stitch

Looking for a stitch that is not overly difficult to execute and with a simple but bold look? Presenting the thousand arrows stitch! We love it because: it is delicate and beautiful. It can be used to make a checkered blanket or even unique winter drink coasters.

The yarn selected for this project is Piuma XXL in the colour of Etoile.

Tutorial: how to knit the thousand arrows stitch

MATERIALS
Piuma XXL yarn col. Etoile 200 g / 7 oz
Knitting needles n° 15 EU / 19 US

METHOD

We work off a number of foundation stitches in multiples of 6.

Row 1: *knit 3 slip stitches pur lwise, knit 3 *, always repeat from * to *.

To execute 1 slip stitch purl wise:

Insert the right needle into the back of the stitch without knitting it, leaving the yarn in front.

Row 2: *purl 2, 3 slip stitches knit wise, purl 1*, always repeat from * to *.

To execute 1 slip stitch knit wise: Insert the right needle into the front of the stitch without knitting it, leaving the yarn behind.

Row 3: *knit 2, 3 slip stitches purl wise, knit 1*, always repeat from * to *
row 4: *knit 3 slip stitches knit wise, purl 3*, always repeat from * to *
row 5: *knit 1 slip stitch purl wise, knit 3, 2 slip stitches purl wise*, always repeat from * to *
row 6: *knit 1 slip stitch knit wise, purl 3, 2 slip stitches knit wise*, always repeat from * to *.

From row 7 to row 10: work as instructed from row 1 to row 4
row 11: work as instructed for row 1
row 12: work as instructed for row 6
row 13: work as instructed for row 5
row 14: work as instructed for row 4
row 15: work as instructed for row 3
row 16: work as instructed for row 2.

From row 17 to row 19: work as instructed from row 11 to row 13
row 20: work as instructed for row 4
row 21: repeat from row 1.


Repeat from * to * for the entire row.
