Today we introduce you to Luna Muñoz, known as @casachinchilla on Instagram, a textile artist who caught our eye with her kaleidoscopic and modern style.

Luna Muñoz is a Spanish textile artist who discovered the art of hand weaving 11 years ago and found her true passion at that moment. She purchased a large loom for her home and began practising hand weaving daily. A couple of years later, she started selling her creations and teaching the technique, building her professional career around it ever since. Her style is bold and incredibly colourful.

Recently, she’s been experimenting with 3D tapestry weaving. She’s aware of the endless creative possibilities in weaving and is keen to explore them all. Playing with materials and testing every option to achieve the perfect effect is essential for her. She loves improvising while she works—choosing the colours and the design concept for her tapestry but lets the rest flow like a jam session in a music studio.

Another great passion of hers is cinema, which she combines with her work by watching films while weaving.

Using our products, Luna has created a series of vertical tapestries. These three works are characterised by highly dynamic textures: fringes, pom-poms, two-tone braids, and flat surfaces.

Our products—fibres, yarns, and ribbons—have found a colorful and lively home in her art.
